New Release Date for Chris Brown’s Graffiti

Chris BrownI’m not sure how a date change would really make a difference in ‘s life at this point, but I guess it wouldn’t hurt for him to try.

Although the 20-year-old singer’s upcoming album was originally set for release on December 15, it will now be made available one week earlier.

Why would Chris want Graffiti dropped closer to Rihanna’s own release date (Nov. 23)? Closer to the unveiling of his ex’s 20/20 interview? Who knows? Maybe Jive Records figures it’s best to take advantage of any publicity - good or bad?

Whatever the reason, the CD comes shortly after Brown kicks off a list of performances. He’ll kick off his Fan Appreciation tour in Houston on November 14 and wrap up in New York on December 15.

Fleetwood Mac to Release New Album

Fleetwood Mac

are planning to release a new album. The legendary band - who kick off their Unleashed tour in Glasgow, Scotland, on Thursday - want to go back into the studio next year to start work on their first LP of original material since 2003’s Say You Will.

Singer says fans have a lot more to look forward to from the band, but say they can only start recording when they complete their dates. “When we’re on the road, we barely have time to go and have a meal, let alone write new material. But in January we’ll have a meeting and decide what to do,” she said.

The legendary singer also claims the band - who were notorious hellraisers during their 70s peak - have finally grown-up and are having a great time on the road. “Fleetwood Mac still presents some amazing opportunities. Around thirty years ago, we were all so self-absorbed that we couldn’t see out of our own corner. Things are a lot more fun now,” Nicks added.

Christina Aguilera’s Great Body of Work

Christina Aguilera is working on her “best album yet.”

The “Candyman” singer has collaborated with M.I.A., Flo Rida, Le Tigre and Santigold on LP Light and Darkness, which is being produced by Tricky Stewart, the mastermind behind Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and Beyonce Knowles’ “Single Ladies.”

“It’s just great. I wouldn’t say that it’s alternative, I wouldn’t say that it’s different. Christina’s always been an artist that moves the bar and that’s what the great ones do,” Tricky said. “They don’t stay in the same place for too long and this album is just another move for her. I really feel it’s one of her best bodies of work that I’ve heard since Stripped.”

The LP will be Christina’s fourth studio album, and her first since 2006. But although the album is almost finished, it won’t be released until next year because Christina is too busy working on new film with Cher.

“She’s gonna do the film first. She didn’t want to not be able to promote this record because it’s going to be a big record for her,” Stewart added. “The album is finished. She’s mixing. She hasn’t made a final decision about what the first single is, but I know everyone feels good about their options.”

50 Cent Preparing to Make an Impact

50 Cent thinks his new album could “impact as hard” as his debut LP.

The “Candy Shop” rapper - real name Curtis Jackson - says he is glad he has taken his time working on Before I Self Destruct because he now believes it is as good as his first record, Get Rich or Die Tryin’.

“I had more time to work on this record. I usually put an album out every two years, so this is almost an additional year,” he said. “This record could potentially be the one to top Get Rich or Die Tryin. I think it could impact as hard, but not necessarily sell as much.”

50 - who grew up in a tough New York neighourhood - also spoke about gangsta rap, insisting it is still relevant to modern society. “People are still living under these circumstances. They identify with it because they have similar struggles or have experienced something similar. They enjoy gangsta rap with a different intensity,” he added to BBC Newsbeat.

The singer insists he isn’t prepared to alter his style to make it less intense. “If we just follow trends then we’re all doing the same thing,” he said. “If Black Eyed Peas’ ‘Boom Boom Pow’ is hot, do we all go and make a ‘Boom Boom Pow’?”

Shirley Bassey Collaborates with Modern Songwriters

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Upcoming Releases

Shirley BasseyDame Shirley Bassey has recorded a song by on her comeback album.

The legendary Welsh vocalist, whose career has spanned 50 years, performs a collection of tracks written by modern songwriters for The Performance, including efforts by Take That frontman Gary Barlow and Pet Shop Boys singer Neil Tennant as well as the British rock band - fronted by Ricky Wilson.

Producer David Arnold is confident the LP will introduce Shirley to a whole new generation and put her back at the top of the charts. Arnold - who has scored the last five films - said: “All these songs were just songs until Shirley Bassey sang them. A Bassey performance can knock the wind out of your sails, make you laugh, or cry, let you in on the joke or lead you to a more exotic place.”

Other artists who have contributed songs to the LP - the first studio record made by 72-year-old Bassey for 20 years - include Rufus Wainwright, the Manic Street Preachers and KT Tunstall.

Arnold believes Bassey’s latest tracks could easily become as popular as her best known hits, such as James Bond theme “Goldfinger” or “Big Spender.” “I tried to make a record that made the most of that voice and one that could sit alongside her other classics,” David said.

The Performance is scheduled for release in November.

Mika Inspired by Weird Teen Years

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Upcoming Releases, Pop

MikaMika - who is known for his outrageous outfits and wild curly hair - says his new LP, The Boy Who Knew Too Much, was inspired by his turbulent adolescence, which he now wants to forget.

“It’s still joyful pop music. I needed to liberate myself from my childhood - I was a weird, reclusive teen,” the 26-year-old said.

The “Love Today” singer’s forthcoming album, the follow-up to 2007’s Life in Cartoon Motion, even contains a vengeful “break-up” song inspired by a bitter split.

“There’s a song called ‘Rain,’ which was a break-up letter, but I thought it would be funny to put a disco beat behind it. It’s my form of revenge - I’m quite a passive aggressive person,” Lebanon-born Mika explained to Britain’s Daily Star newspaper. “A lot of artists are more protective of themselves on their second album. I don’t give a s**t how I’m perceived. Famous people are boring and only think of themselves.”

For Mika’s latest single “We Are Golden,” the eccentric pop star was asked to act like a teenager, and ended up stripping off. “The director did ‘Paparazzi’ for and asked me what my 17-year-old self would be wearing. I said my underwear, and then I was there in white boxers flexing my muscles. I almost wanted to vomit,” he revealed.
