He may have an interest in doing solo projects, but that doesn’t mean Steven Tyler‘s quitting his day job. In fact, the lead singer made certain everyone knew that last night.
After surprising an audience at a Joe Perry gig, the 61-year-old lead singer told the crowd that he isn’t going anywhere. “New York, I want you to know I’m not leaving Aerosmith,” Tyler claimed. Following his announcement, Tyler fronted a peformance of “Walk This Way.”
That declaration was seconded by Perry on Twitter earlier in the day. “Aerosmith is definetly NOT breaking up. One of the members is doing his own thing and said so in the press. That’s all I know,” he wrote.

Will the Rolling Stones Tour Again?

The Rolling Stones may be about to tour again.
Ronnie Wood confirmed he had been in touch with band members Mick Jagger and Charlie Watts just last week and everything was “great” - hinting the group could hit the road again soon. He added that he was confident the band could do a follow up tour to 2007’s Bigger Bang.
Earlier this week, Wood picked up the Outstanding Contribution award at the Marshall Classic Rock Roll of Honour awards. The rocker, who was at the event with his 20-year-old Russian girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova, also said there could be a reunion with his other band, Faces. “Well, we just had one, and there will definitely be more,” he stated.
Commenting on rock stars wearing makeup, Ronnie said: “It’s like KISS - they’re people you don’t recognize in the street, then they take makeup off, I’ve always worn it, but I’ve not got any on tonight.”
There are yet to be any dates confirmed for either a Faces or Rolling Stones tour.

Rumors say that Google will soon make an announcement and unveil what is reportedly being called “One Box,” a brand-new facet of the popular search engine that will help users search for music.
If you’ve ever used Google Images, you already know how the new search is rumored to work. You’ll type in an artist’s name - Michael Jackson, for instance - and be greeted with Web sites allowing you to listen to or buy the songs you’re seeking. Apple and iTunes are no doubt already sweating.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand an Item

Katy Perry is secretly kissing Russell Brand - and she likes it.
The “Hot N Cold” singer was whisked away to Thailand on a romantic break with the presenter after impressing him with a picture of her breasts after they met at the MTV Video Music Awards last month. A source said:
“When they were both in New York for the music awards Russell finally got his chance to work his charm on her. Katy knows his bad boy reputation but could not resist - especially when Russell sent a love poem with a note attached saying, ‘Please send me a poem back.’ Russell killed himself laughing when Katy sent a photo of her boobs with the word ‘poem’ scrawled across them. The next minute Russell picked up the phone and invited her to Thailand for a secret getaway.”

Arctic Monkeys Avoid Other Bands

The Arctic Monkeys have been blasted for their unfriendly attitude at the Reading Festival.
The “Crying Lightning” rockers - who headlined the music event over the weekend - have come under fire for their insistence on a segregated backstage area and refusal to mix with other acts on the bill.
“At festivals most bands take the opportunity to hang out with each other but the Monkeys demanded privacy,” a source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper. “They had their own area set up away from the other acts on the bill, which was guarded at all times by two security guards. Now they’re on their third number one album they can make any demand they want and have it granted.”

Kaiser Chiefs Not Splitting Up

Kaiser Chiefs have laughed off rumors they are set to split.
The group dismissed speculation that their performances at last weekend’s Reading and Leeds festivals would be their last, insisting their calendar is empty because they are in need of a vacation.
“It’s our last show for the foreseeable future, so it’s a bit of an abyss. You think if it was our last one ever, we wouldn’t be having a good time? I don’t think bands split up when they’re still good friends and having a good time with each other,” Frontman Ricky Wilson said. “We just haven’t written anything new and we haven’t booked anything. If people look at your diary and see you haven’t booked anything, they think you’re stopping. We’ve been on tour for five years and we want to spend some of our money on air travel! I never really saw the point of going on holiday before. but last week I was in Tel Aviv and went in the sea. I thought, Oh, I get it now, it’s fun.”

Will Adam Lambert Front Queen?

Gene Simmons might not see Adam Lambert as a rocker, but his opinion isn’t shared by all. The members of Queen were so impressed with the American Idol finalist, they’ve even expressed interest in working with Lambert again. Maybe even on a permanent basis.
When asked about the frontman rumors, guitarist Brian May denied any job offers were made after last week’s season ender. But that doesn’t mean America hasn’t already seen the new Freddie Mercury. “Amongst all that furor, there wasn’t really a quiet moment to talk. But [drummer Roger Taylor] and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with him at some point,” May revealed to Rolling Stone. “It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.”
