Interview: Pint Shot Riot
Posted by Drea Avellan Categories: Site Features, Rock
Although the name Pint Shot Riot might not ring any bells for most Americans, EA is working on fixing this issue – pronto. Pint Shot Riot is a British Rock band that has had their fair amount of publicity on BBC Radio, BBC Band of the week and even made the UK Indie charts at #7. Their first single, “Punches Kicks Trenches And Swords,” had an appearance on The Sims 3, giving the band some international exposure. Pint Shot Riot currently holds a publishing deal with EA and their partner company, Artwerk, to license their songs to appear on games developed by EA. If you are big into EA games, get familiar with the name – you will be hearing it a lot more.
I had the opportunity to chat with Baby Dave, the bassist, and talk about the band history, video games and try to dig up any glorious dirt.

Green Day Album Evolves Into Musical
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Artist News, Release Dates, Upcoming Releases, Rock
Early next year, U2’s Bono and The Edge will officially be listed as the composers for Broadway’s Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. But those unable to make it to New York can get an entirely different rock opera experience on the West Coast.
Beginning this fall, the Berkeley Repertory Theater in California will feature American Idiot, a stage musical based on Green Day’s 2004 album of the same name. The production is being directed by Tony winner Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening) and co-written by the band’s lead singer, Billie Joe Armstrong.
The 2004 album, which included such songs as Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Wake Me Up When September Ends, followed the story of Jesus of Suburbia, a disaffected suburban kid-turned-drug dealer. Idiot went on to win several Grammys (Best Rock Album, Record of the Year) and sell 12 million copies.

Guns N’ Roses Chinese Democracy album and single
Posted by Seth Combs Categories: Upcoming Releases, Rock
Axl Rose is back! Well, actually, disregard the image because he really doesn’t look like this anymore. Think a transformation along the lines of Danny Bonaduce from his days in the Partridge Family to the mess he was on Breaking Bonaduce. His current looks, though, are pointless because he still sounds incredible.
It’s been 17 years since the last Guns N’ Roses album. In that time, they’ve been very disciplined about getting the next album out. We know it’s hard to believe, but they’ve spent 10 years in the studio and over $15 million dollars on getting Chinese Democracy completed. You’ll be able to grab the new Guns N’ Roses album on November 23rd,
Judging from the first single off the album, also named Chinese Democracy, this album is well worth the wait. Listen to the Chinese Democracy single, and let us know what you think in the comments.
Now…when is Detox coming out?
