Michael Jackson DiesMichael Jackson is dead.

It is alleged the ‘Thriller’ singer passed away from cardiac arrest today, June 25th 2009. The news was first broken by TMZ, with CNN reporting he was in a coma. Emergency services in California confirm they rushed a 50-year-old man to hospital this afternoon, but strict privacy laws mean that they cannot confirm if it was the singer.

TMZ reported: “Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. When paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back. A source tells us Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived. Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but they had no luck. We’re told one of the staff members at Jackson’s home called 911. LaToya ran in the hospital sobbing after Jackson was pronounced dead.”

The singer’s family are believed to be at the UCLA hospital in the city, which has been cordoned off by police tape.

Michael - who has three children, Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 10 and seven-year-old Prince Michael II - was believed to have been suffering from skin cancer and was due to embark on a comeback 50-date residency at O2 Arena in London next month. The first dates of the tour were delayed amid concerns for his health.

Uri Geller - one of Michael’s closest friends - told Sky News: “Like the whole world I’m absolutely devastated and lost for words because everyone expected him to come to England. He was in good health - he was rehearsing and dancing. I’m shocked.”

Leona Lewis finishing up album, planning two-year tour

Leona Lewis tour is planning a two-year tour. The singer wants to hit the road for her first ever solo tour as soon as she finishes recording her second album in Los Angeles. She said: “I’ll be touring in 2010 and through to the year after. I just can’t wait.” Leona - who shot to fame after winning UK TV talent show The X Factor - is really excited about her upcoming LP, the follow-up to her hit 2007 debut Spirit. The album is rumoured to be packed with several star guests, including Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo and super-producer Timbaland, and Leona insists fans will be surprised by her new sound.

The 24-year-old star told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “I’ve recorded about 20 songs so far. I’d say it was about halfway there. I’ve been flying back and forth to Los Angeles to record it. The music has a different feel this time. It’s more of a live, heavier sound with a lot of real instruments. It’s something I’ll be able to perform live.”

Jordin Sparks - a former winner of talent show ‘American Idol’ - recently revealed she is keen to collaborate with Leona. She previously said: “I want to work with Leona Lewis. I love her, she’s so sweet! I’d love to do a nice powerful female duet with her. I think our voices would blend together really well.”

Lady GagaAccording to , she would “die” if she wasn’t famous. Lady Gaga, who is well known for her eccentric fashion sense, bizarre make-up choices, and party lifestyle, can’t stand the thought of life away from the public eye, and wouldn’t be able to cope with normal life.

Lady Gaga said: “There are times when it can be a lot to deal with but always when I get up in the morning I try to find that very joyful place that reminds me that I would die if someone took it all away. If someone did that I wouldn’t be a person any more.”

After years of singing in clubs and penning tracks for stars including , the 23-year-old beauty - who topped the UK charts with her debut album The Fame - is grateful of her newfound success. She explained: “I have such an appreciation for where I am in my life because I’ve struggled and because I couldn’t get signed, and because I couldn’t get played on the radio.”

But the eccentric star, who went to the elite Convent of the Sacred Heart School with Paris and Nicky Hilton, relishes the opportunity to be herself. She said: “Right now the only thing that I am concerned with in my life is being an artist. I had to suppress it for so many years in high school because I was made fun of but now I’m completely insulated in my box of insanity and I can do whatever I like.”

Listen to Britney Spears Circus album now, in full

Britney Spears CircusIt looks like has a marketing team in place that “gets” this whole social media game that all the cool kids are playing these days. Case in point, not only are they not concerned with album leaks, they’ve teamed with IMEEM for an exlusive pre-release landing page that lets you listen to all the tracks on Britney’s upcoming Circus album, which is set for a December 2 release. You can go there, right now, and listen to all 13 tracks in their entirety (and, for some reason, they included Radar again on this album - it was already on her last album, Blackout.)

They’ve also got a bunch of videos related to Britney, including a few music videos, music playlists, video playlists, photos, and more. It’s really well done, and anything that gives me early access to music gets a thumbs up from me. You can pre-order the album in CD form, or as downloadable MP3s, from Amazon.

[Thanks, Alana!]
