Mariah Carey Feels Pressure to Complete Album

Mariah Carey feels there is a "lot of pressure" on her new album. The diva released comeback track "#Beautiful," featuring Miguel, on Monday and is racing to complete her eleventh studio album in time for summer.
Taking about a release date, she told radio host Ryan Seacrest, "Probably we're talking about earlier than mid-summer, which is a lot of pressure on me because I want these last few records to be just as good as the first records I started."
Mariah wrote "#Beautiful" with Miguel and was impressed with how in tune with each other they both were in the studio. "We got together, he had starting writing this song with just the guitar riff. And I have to say this about him as a collaborator, sometimes when you haven't worked with somebody you don't know really what they do in the studio... And if they have the same kind of love for music that I have... And he's the truth. We just wanted to do something different that has a texture that feels fresh," she explained.

Billboard Crowns Rihanna as Top Pop Star

Rihanna has been named Billboard's Top Pop Artist of the last 20 years.
The "Diamonds" hitmaker tops the music magazine's list of the most successful artists in the history of its Pop Songs chart, which started on October 3, 1992. The magazine awarded her top spot for her achievements on the chart, which include 34 appearances with 21 top ten hits, and nine number one songs, an accolade she shares with Katy Perry, placed at sixth on the list.
The top ten was dominated by solo women singers, with Usher the only male, and Black eyed Peas the only group. Pink is in second place, followed by Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson and Mariah Carey.
Katy comes in next, and New York based radio program director Sharon Dastur, reminisced about the first time she worked with her: "Katy's very first single, 'I Kissed a Girl,' had just recently come out and we were playing it on [radio station] Z100. We started to feel an early buzz on the song, but the masses still weren't that familiar with who Katy was. We invited her to come on-stage at our Jingle Ball to help introduce one of the acts performing. We weren't sure if the crowd would be familiar with her by name, so we suggested that when she went out there, she should sing the hook of 'I Kissed a Girl' a capella. As soon as the crowd heard that, they sang every word along with her. Katy has told us that she'll always remember that moment."

LISTEN: Mariah Carey’s Newest Christmas Song

Could this be the tune that finally tops a holiday song – released 16 years ago?
Later this fall, Mariah Carey will follow up Merry Christmas, her album from 1994, with a festive sequel.
Although “Oh Santa!,” the first track from Merry Christmas II You, won’t likely reach classic status like the single “All I Want For Christmas Is You” did, it’s still pretty fun to listen to.
At the very least, the tune is definitely worthy of a Gap commercial.
The new holiday album will hit stores on November 2.

Although we do not know yet whether Mariah Carey is indeed pregnant, there is one thing we do know about the singer: she won’t let a minor fall keep her from making a show happen.
Over the weekend, Carey was entertaining a crowd in Singapore when the $10,000 heels she was wearing got the best of her. But being the consummate performer that she is, Mariah got herself right back up and finished singing – while simultaneously having the shoes removed from her feet.
That’s a diva who gets the job done.

Mariah Carey: Possible American Idol Judge?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Gossip, Pop

If American Idol producers fail to nab either Jennifer Lopez or Shania Twain as a judge, there’s one other singer they might be able to score: Mariah Carey.
According to America’s Got Talent host Nick Cannon, his wife would actually be interested in the position.
“You know what? [Mariah] talks about it,” Cannon said about a hypothetical job offering. “She says, ‘I would love to do that.’ She is one of the greatest singers of our time; she would be great. I don’t know if she has enough time, though, but if they could work with her schedule, I know she would love to do Idol. Let’s start the campaign!” (So when you say “time,” Nick—are you saying she might be busy being pregnant?)
Carey, like Lopez and Twain, has already made an appearance on the FOX reality program. She served as mentor during Season 7.

Even though it’s been a a year and a half since their wedding, Mariah Carey and her husband like to keep in constant contact. It’s been revealed that the two use lusty long distance conversations to keep the romance alive when their work sends them to separate cities.
Asked how he and Mariah coped with being apart, actor/rapper Nick Cannon said: “There’s lots of phone sex! And when I get home, we have a big party!” The 28-year-old star also revealed he and Mariah, 40, are planning to have a baby in the near future. “We definitely want a family. It’s at the forefront of our minds,” Cannon claimed.
“Of course, we’d be happy with one. I want to be able to manage the right amount of attention,” Mariah added. “We are so busy - if you have six kids running around, no one gets what they need. Kids need a lot of attention.”
If they can’t conceive naturally, the couple would “definitely” consider adoption. “It’s never out of the question. I was raised by my grandmother, who was also a foster mom, so I grew up around a lot of kids,” Nick explained.
