Jay-Z Defends Kanye West’s VMAs Outburst

Jay-Z has defended Kanye West’s behavior at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The “Love Lockdown” star has come under fire for storming the stage when Taylor Swift was accepting her Best Female Video prize, but his mentor insists the incident has been blown out of proportion.

“Kanye is like my little brother he’s just a super-passionate person. Of course it was rude because it was her moment, but that’s what he believed. I think it’s been blown out of proportion, he didn’t kill anybody, no one got harmed,” he said. “I think he’s passionate and he needs to watch that. At the end of the day, we’ll celebrate him for his passion rather than vilify him, because the thing which causes him to make great records is what also makes him step out of line. He was inappropriate, it wasn’t fair to Taylor at all. Move on. But I don’t think he should lay low.”

In this video for Jay-Z’s new single, the trio rallies a group of torch-bearing, bandana-wearing followers to do…something. Maybe they’ll be in the crowd when the song is performed on Jay Leno’s new show?

Jay-Z featuring Santogold with Brooklyn Go Hard

World AIDS day was the catalyst for the launch of (RED)WIRE, a digital music magazine raising funds to help combat AIDS in Africa. U2, Sheryl Crow and others have videos posted already, as does one Jay-Z. His latest video for the song “Brooklyn We Go Hard” is absolutely incredible and you are required to watch and listen to it multiple times.

Watch it because the incredible Typographic Illustration skills are from none other than Evan Roth, who was kind enough to include the source code in this video as well. Expect to here this track non-stop starting next month, as it’s included in the upcoming NOTORIOUS film. Yes, it’s produced by Kanye West but NO, there is not a single note of Auto-Tune in this track.

Kanye West’s “Amazing” featuring Young Jeezy

Okay, I am now beginning to believe all tracks from Kanye West‘s upcoming album 808s and Heartbreak will be leaked prior to the November 24 drop date. Case in point, the latest released track “Amazing” featuring Young Jeezy, which showed up today. True to the rest of the album, Kanye uses Auto-Tune technology and tears it up once again.
