A death in Bruce Springsteen‘s immediate family resulted in the cancellation of his Kansas City concert tonight. The announcement came less than two hours before the show was to begin.
“Lenny Sullivan, Bruce’s cousin and the assistant road manager of the E Street Band for the last ten years, passed away today at the age of 36. A warm and sensitive person, he was beloved by Bruce, the Band, the crew, and the entire Thrill Hill family,” read the statement on Springsteen’s website.

Fame Kills has just been killed.
Live Nation announced today that the concert tour, starring Kanye West and Lady Gaga, has officially been canceled. This news comes less than a week after tickets first became available. Refunds will be made available to all ticket buyers.
The two musicians, who individually created buzz at the recent VMAs, had been scheduled to hit 34 cities together starting in November. Although no explanation was given for the cancellation, it’s possible the decision may have been a result of Kanye’s behavior at the MTV event.

Blink-182 Cancels Concert to Mourn
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Artist News, Concerts / Tours, Rock

Although they found the strength to perform over the weekend, Blink-182 has decided to cancel an appearance Monday night in New York. The group made the decision based on the “circumstances surrounding the unfortunate and untimely passing” of their friend DJ AM.
On Saturday, drummer Travis Barker - who survived a deadly plane crash last September with Adam Goldstein - and the rest of his band members paid tribute to the disc jockey at a concert in Hartford, Connecticut. An emotional Mark Hoppus told the attendees that they had “lost a really dear friend” right before leading them into a moment of silence.
“We thank all of our fans for their support in this tough time,” the group said in a statement about this evening’s gig. Other acts still on the schedule include Weezer, Taking Back Sunday and Chester French.

Aerosmith Tour Canceled After Steven Tyler Fall
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Artist News, Concerts / Tours, Rock
A frightening fall earlier this month has forced the cancellation of Aerosmith‘s summer tour.
On August 5, Steven Tyler and the rest of his bandmates were in Sturgis, S.D. when the lead singer - as seen in the video - took a spill off the stage. The 61-year-old was performing his signature moves when he gave the crowd more than they had bargained for. “I was doing the Tyler shuffle and then I zigged when I should have zagged ... AND I slipped, and as I live on the edge ... I fell off the edge!” Tyler recently stated.

Rihanna, Chris Brown Cancel Grammy Performances Due to Police Investigation

UPDATE #2: Sources for the LA Times claim Rihanna was the woman in the car.
UPDATE: Chris turned himself into police and was booked for making criminal threats. He has since posted $50,000 bail.
One of music’s hottest couples will be MIA from the Grammy ceremony tonight.
Nominees Rihanna and Chris Brown have both issued last-minute cancellations due to an LAPD investigation. The incident stems from an alleged assault that occurred early Sunday morning.
According to the police department, Brown and a woman were arguing inside a vehicle around 12:30 AM today. The two eventually exited the vehicle when Chris reportedly became physical with the passenger. By the time officers arrived, the singer had already left the scene. That was when the injured victim named the Brown as the suspect.
Although it’s unclear what Rihanna’s role is in this matter (the victim’s name was not released), her appearance at the 51st annual event was canceled late this evening. (She and Brown were both scheduled to perform.) When contacted, her rep offered this statement to the media: “Rihanna is well. Thank you for concern and support.”
R&B legend Al Green has reportedly been asked to help fill the telecast’s hole.
