Family Death Reason for Canceled Springsteen Concert
A death in Bruce Springsteen‘s immediate family resulted in the cancellation of his Kansas City concert tonight. The announcement came less than two hours before the show was to begin.
“Lenny Sullivan, Bruce’s cousin and the assistant road manager of the E Street Band for the last ten years, passed away today at the age of 36. A warm and sensitive person, he was beloved by Bruce, the Band, the crew, and the entire Thrill Hill family,” read the statement on Springsteen’s website.

According to a spokesperson for the local police department, Sullivan was discovered in his room at Kansas City’s Intercontinental Hotel—the location where the other band members were staying. Although the cause of death is still being investigated, there is no reason to believe that any foul play was involved.
While it’s possible the band will return to Missouri at a later time, all tickets are currently being refunded at the point of purchase.
